The Horncastle Indoor Bowls Club opened in 1990 after years of fundraising from local enthusiasts led by Councillor Sidney Cowling.

This five rink club is owned and run by its members some of whom volunteer to be Directors, handling the financial aspects, and volunteers known as the Management Committee who administers the day to day running and staffing. No volunteers receive any payments for the duties they perform.

The combination of a well equipped kitchen, attractive dining area, a well stocked bar that has recently been improved and the friendly aspects of social and competitive bowling ensures a pleasurable experience for both current and potential new members.

Being in a town that attracts retired people, applications for membership are a regular occurrence but more would be very welcome whether they want a casual roll up with like minded people or play in our numerous club leagues or annual club competitions.

The club has gone from strength to strength in terms of finance and recently installed a climate control system with a new suspended ceiling and improved lighting.

We are affiliated to the English Indoor Bowls Association and the Lincolnshire Indoor Bowls Association which entitles us to play competitive games against other Lincolnshire clubs and for our members to enter county and national competitions, which they do with considerable success. Being a long established and well respected club we regularly play host to County events.

We can offer coaching by qualified county coaches for both newcomers and bowlers who wish to hone their skills.

Although the competitive indoor season only runs from September to April, the club is open to members and visitors during the summer months for social bowling in the mornings except Wednesdays and Sundays.

The joining fees, annual subscriptions and rink fees are amongst the most affordable in Lincolnshire.
